June 12, 2005 - Friday, the Mojave Spaceport hosted over 800 junior rocketeers as they competed in teams to build and launch model rockets. The event, conceived and energized by EKAD boardmember - and Fiberset President - Marie Walker, challenged local school kids to team up and build one of two designs: either one based on X-Prize contestant Canadian Arrow, or one based on Burt Rutan's SpaceShipOne. Burt even pulled the real SpaceShipOne out of the hangar and put it on display for the kids. Congrats and thanks to all the EKAD folks who worked so hard to make this event a resounding success!
